Gum Disease

Gum disease (periodontitis) is an advanced gum infection that damages the surrounding tissues of your teeth and when left untreated, can lead to tooth loss.

Mostly, it is a preventable condition, caused by poor brushing and flossing habits, allowing plaque to build-up and harden on your teeth.

Common symptoms of gum disease include:

  • Swollen gums
  • Bright red gums
  • Gums that bleed easily, including after you brush or floss your teeth
  • Gums that are tender to touch
  • Persistent bad breath

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, please speak to your dentist to help create an appropriate treatment plan.
